Chicago Cubs Lineup (6/25/22): Morel 2B, Velázquez RF, Sampson Pitching

The Chicago Cubs look to build off their win on Friday over the St. Louis Cardinals. In order to do that they’ll need a solid start from RHP Adrian Sampson.

Sampson dominated in his last outing, a relief appearance, allowing just one hit and striking out five in 4.2 innings. This will be Sampson’s first start of the year for the Cubs but he is a starter with previous MLB starting experience.

Christopher Morel is playing second leading off today, Rafael Ortega is in center, Willson Contreras is catching, and Ian Happ is in left. Patrick Wisdom is at third, Nico Hoerner is playing short, Yan Gomes is DH, Alfonso Rivas is at first, and Nelson Velázquez is in right.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:15pm CT. The game will be broadcast on Marquee Sports Network and 670 The Score.
