MRI Reveals No Structural Damage in Kyle Hendricks’ Shoulder

There was good news on the injury front Thursday as it was announced that Kyle Hendricks does not have structural damage in his right shoulder and will not require any medical procedures. The veteran righty left his most recent start after 69 pitches due to discomfort that he said felt similar to the issue that forced him to miss a start in early June.

Hendricks has not pitched particularly well this season, but he had been settling into a groove recently and was even the subject of trade rumors. While this latest issue might cool the market just a bit on that front, a successful return prior to the August 2 deadline might yet have teams calling Jed Hoyer to do a deal.
