Chicago Cubs Lineup (7/10/22): Smyly Returns, Contreras DH, Velázquez RF
The Chicago Cubs (34-51) are hoping to salvage the final game of their four-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers (55-29) today. Drew Smyly returns from the IL and will pitch in a game where the Cubs really could use a long outing from their starter to rest their already taxed bullpen. That’s not likely, but the hope today will be to get five innings out of Smyly.
Christopher Morel is batting leadoff playing center today, Willson Contreras is DH, Ian Happ is in left, Patrick Wisdom is at third, and Nico Hoerner is at short. P.J. Higgins is catching, Nelson Velázquez is in right, David Bote is at first, and Andrelton Simmons is at second.
First pitch is scheduled at 3:10pm CT from Dodger Stadium. The game will be broadcast on Marquee Sports Network and 670 The Score.
