Cubs Activate Wade Miley, DFA Luke Farrell
The Cubs have activated lefty Wade Miley from the 60-day IL to make Tuesday’s start, his first since June 10. He has missed most of the season with a troublesome shoulder that has limited him to just 19 MLB innings over four starts. In order to make room for Miley on the roster, righty Luke Farrell has been designated for assignment
The 31-year-old Farrell was in his second stint with the Cubs after making 20 appearances with them back in 2018. He appeared in four games this season, pitching 11 innings and striking out nine with three walks. Though he may not pitch for the Cubs again, I can see Farrell rejoining the organization at some point in the future as a member of the development infrastructure.
