Watch: Hayden Wesneski Interviewed on MLB Central After Dominating Debut
Hayden Wesneski was traded by the New York Yankees back on the August 3rd trade deadline in exchange for RHP Scott Effross. At the time, Cubs fans didn’t know much about Wesenski. Well, that all changed last night.
Wesneski made his debut as a Chicago Cub on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field and boy was he nasty. He gave up just two hits over five innings of relief while striking out eight and walking just one batter on his way to getting the win. His slider averaged 18 inches of horizontal movement, something that only three pitchers in all of MLB can do consistently. Pretty incredible.
He appeared on MLB Central today and shared his thoughts on his outing, talked about how he found out he was traded, and much more. You can check it out just below.
