Chicago Cubs Lineup (3/27/23): Hoerner Leads Off, Mastrobuoni in RF, Taillon Starting
The Cubs have what looks like a regular-season lineup for their penultimate spring game, perhaps with a hint as to the eventual roster. Nico Hoerner, Dansby Swanson, and Ian Happ are all in their usual spots, then it’s Cody Bellinger cleaning up in center.
Trey Mancini is at first, Eric Hosmer is the DH, Yan Gomes is the catcher, and Edwin Ríos is at third. Perhaps the most interesting choice is Miles Mastrobuoni manning right field, which could signal that he’ll break camp with the big club. The Cubs value versatility, but there’s probably just one spot available for the trio of Mastrobuoni, Zach McKinstry, and Christopher Morel.
Jameson Taillon is on the mound for the final time this spring as he builds toward what is looking like an excellent performance in the regular season. His new sweeper should really set off his curve nicely and I think he could end up posting better strikeout numbers than ever.
First pitch from is at 3:05pm CT on Marquee and 670 The Score as the Cubs welcome the White Sox to Sloan Park.
