Cubs Exercise 2024 Option on Kyle Hendricks

According to ESPN’s Jesse Rogers, the Cubs have exercised their $16.5 million option on Kyle Hendricks, ensuring he’ll be with the club for at least one more year. Though it has sometimes been reported as $16 million, Hendricks earned a bump with a top-10 Cy Young finish in 2020. They had reportedly been working on an extension and could still do so, but this was an obvious move after Marcus Stroman opted out.
