Cubs Throwing it Back, Reveal New Blue Alternate Jerseys
Cubs Convention is almost here, and nothing is better than a big announcement right before the annual gathering of fans! It may not be a player, but the Cubs just announced a big change this evening. It seems they’re dropping the Wrigleyville City Connect jerseys and adding new “Blues Alternate” jerseys to the collection.

Naming the new merchandise “Blues Alternate” is a homage to the song “Sweet Home Chicago” by the Blues Brothers, which you’ll hear playing around Wrigley after every Cubs home win. Another Easter egg is the guitar pick on the left sleeve, with the word “Chicago” spelled inside it.
The jerseys use an iconic baby blue, referencing the Blues Brothers. Baby blue is an extremely popular color among baseball fans, with teams such as the Cardinals and Phillies having jerseys with similar color schemes.
The Cubs logo resembles the 1919 “wishbone” logo, with the colors possibly deriving from the 1950s. So far, the reaction from fans online has been excellent.
TAKE MY MONEY! THEY ARE FANTASTIC

With Cubs Fans heading to Chicago to experience Cubs Convention, it was a genius idea to announce these just in time for the celebration. The marketing team knocked it out of the park, as these are sure to be a huge success this weekend.
