Chicago Cubs Lineup: Lester Leading the Way, Cubs Offense Lurking

The Cubs (35-15) have been an interesting bunch this year on offense, no doubt. They’re ranked third in the league in runs with 275 but they’ve had a number of games where their offense has been completely stagnated by mostly mediocre pitchers. It’s confusing, frustrating and something we all wish there was a clear-cut answer or solution for.

DSC_0913Yesterday — on a night that saw the Cubs finally, in 24 outings, lose a game started by Jake Arrieta — the Cubs stumbled mainly due to the lack of offense and not the lack of Jake. Well, to be fair, the bullpen was downright awful too (you can read about that here). Their offense is looking to get back in gear tonight against the Dodgers (28-25) and Jon Lester (5-3, 2.48 ERA) will be leading the charge.
