The Cubs (39-15) are 30-5 this year when they hit a home run. They’ve also now won 10 of their last 11 games. It’s funny, this baseball thing. First, the Cubs hot start had everyone talking about them. Then, they lost a few games and suddenly there was a slight pause (cue, reality) amongst some. Now, they’re back to crushing right along. Baseball is fun.
Here you’ll see highlights from yesterday’s 5-3 Cubs’ win against the Diamondbacks (more on that here). From Dexter Fowler’s lead off home run – his third of the year, to Soler’s missile that I think may be embedded in the outfield wall. Then there was Hammel’s domination, both pitching a one-hitter thru seven innings and hitting the game winning single. And, last but certainly not least, Anthony Rizzo punishes his 13th ball of the season, now tied for first on the team with Kris Bryant. Enjoy, my friends!
